It consists of a silicone tube, with a metal sheath covering it to prevent the silicone from being deformed when the temperature changes. The metal sheath also acts as a heat sink to help cool down LEDs more efficiently. The strip lighting is rated IP67, meaning they are waterproof and dustproof.
